I’m a mom. In a swimsuit. And it’s ok.

May 23, 2011

I almost didn’t do this post, I was so freaked out at posting the pictures – but if you think I look horrible, well, click out. I don’t need the, “Zomg you’re such a porker” comments because we’ve already covered that here and here. I do McFatty Monday for me – to help myself gain some confidence. And let me tell you – it’s working. I would have DIED a few months ago over just the mere thought of wearing a bathing suit, much less doing a blog post with me in one.

My girlfriend Erika from NAMAmmaSTE graciously took the pics on my balcony, the ones in the house were a little odd with beach attire. We chose two that show off the suit all the way and my new spray tan.

I thought the spray tan turned out rather well. At first I was a little freaked out by just how TAN it was – but once I showered that night it settled into a more subtle color.  I got a Versa done – as well as a regular tan. It’s called a double dip. That way when the spray tan wears off I’m not glowing white again.

The suit is from Kohls. I loved all the links you shared, and wanted to buy and try all of them. Then I realized I didn’t have enough time to buy one, and if it didn’t fit, send it back. I leave on Wednesday to go to Georgia so I had to have one asap. I took everyone’s ideas on more coverage in the bottom area, and then did a plunging neckline – because really?

Who hates boobs?

So as promised, here I am. A mom. In a swimsuit. Telling you all out there – it’s ok to be in one and not be a size 0.

I am not high. Despite how it looks. The top is a pull string - LOVE. The bottom is boy short style - I like how it fits in the back too.
Just for fun.

P.S. I plan on ROCKIN’ the mom look in Georgia. Right after I get my hands on some Popeye’s biscuits. Nom nom nom.

You are awesome and you look fabulous! I love the top and the shorts.

I am on the thin side, but very anti-voluptious and glowing white. It’s hard to find a flattering suit! I think I may try out the spray tan one of these days. 🙂

You look FANTASTIC! Go mama! I remember not wanting to go to the hotsprings with the kids cause i didn’t want to wear a baithing suit! And then i realized i was more worried about what i looked like than how much fun my kids would have! I’m mostly over it now! I still get a little anxiety walking out to the pool! But i think that’s normal!

That is exactly what helped me this time. The thought of, “Why should Bella miss out on the fun because I’m so self conscious?” I love that other moms have those thoughts too, because it makes me feel like we’re all in this together.

P.S. You always look amazing Becca.

As amazing as a “real” mom of three kids can look! Thanks Diana….:)

by “real” i mean i’m not one of those chicks who gets pregnant, has the baby, and two weeks later looks exactly like they did when they found out they were preggers! It’s got to be some sort of gene mutation that i didn’t get. damn it!

You don’t at all look like a porker. I had three kids in four years, so the mention of swimming terrifies me. But I can’t deprive my kids forever. Boooooo! But guess what? I’m going to go buy that suit because you totally sold it to me!

I love it! I think it’s very cute. I like that it’s coverage enough that you won’t be flashing everyone when your kid starts yanking on it, but young & fresh at the same time. Good find!

      May 23, 2011 at 3:32 pm
