Full Feeds and Posts via Email
Yesterday, I was emphatically told on Facebook that most of you dislike partial feeds in your reader and in your email.
I understand. I do. I dislike them as well, although I do have several bloggers that do it, and I love them so much I go over any way. But there isn’t anything nicer than curling up with a cup of (decaf ::sad face::) tea and reading The Pioneer Woman in the evenings on my phone.
As gorgeous as her site is to go to.
I think the hard part is, I love having people come over and stay for a while. I felt as if a full post in a reader would mean you’d never come back. Never see my site, the changes, the updates, or be part of the community we’ve formed. You’d read and delete.
But I thought about how wonderful you guys have been over the years here, how often you email me with encouragement and stories, how many times you’ve supported this blog – and I realized that the very least I could do was make it easier to read. So I have switched to a full feed. Readers who subscribe will have (hopefully) seen the changes today.
For those of you who have no idea what I’m talking about, in the middle column to the right (top) there is an email subscription link. Under where you can email me, find me on Twitter, etc. If you type in your email, you’ll get my posts once a day; usually in the morning. In the posts there are links to come over and leave a comment or simply check out something else I’m talking about.
There is no spam, nothing but just the post delivered to you. And it’s all done through Feedburner – not something I have your email for.
I have this for the majority of my favorite bloggers and it’s wonderful. I am reminded in my email at the end of the day who I haven’t read yet, and can go comment when I have a chance. Or forward the email to a friend. Or highlight it to share with you all on Facebook.
Hope that helps with easier, more enjoyable reading; and you’ll still come over and leave me your thoughts!
