Twin Nicknames

February 22, 2012

I have to be honest. I’m not a huge fan of nicknames. Like – the cutesy kind that have nothing to do with your kids name. Which is why I decided when starting this blog Bella would be Bella.

But, I kept thinking this entire time what we would call the new baby on here. Obviously we can’t just come up with a real name for a while. And then there’s the fact that there are now two of them. So while Baby A and B seems obvious, in my mind they are taken by a couple other moms expecting twins/trips and it seemed like imposing to claim them yet again.

But I didn’t want to come up with fake names or something random like Beef and Cheese. (raise your hand if you just quoted Elf)

Then I got it. Everyone kept saying we got a “Buy One – Get One” for this pregnancy. Since it’s my last and all. And I thought – how cute is that?

A BOGO.

So that’s what we are calling them. Baby Bo. Baby Go. I’m thinking Baby B will be known as Bo to make things easier.

Now to start working on real names.

Like Beef and Cheese.

So super cute!! I personally call my kids every name EXCEPT for their real names all the time. I’m pretty sure my son thought his name was Bubba or Punkin-head up until a few months ago. And well, Baby Girl is Baby Girl. I hardly ever use her real name. My poor kids. And now the newest baby is…Baby. Because I keep it real easy around here 🙂

I have to be honest, I was kind of hoping that we could go the “Thing 1” and “Thing 2” route.

But I guess BoGo works 🙂

I loved giving the boys a nickname while we were pregnant. Theirs didn’t stick until they were born, Carson and Oliver – The OC.

    congratulations again!

I came over here planning to be all righteously indignant that you 1) just found out you’re pregnant and 2) just found out it’s twins and already have names picked out while I’m 8 weeks from delivery with nary a name in site and then got this pleasant little chuckle. I love it!

Pat Babies BoGo “Hi” for me, mmkay?

    Haha! BoGo…love it!

Tim and I are guilty of ridiculous nicknames for Sophia that have nothing to do with her actual name. My recent go to name for her has been Shake n Bake. I have no idea how I started it but I use it all the time. Then I call her Pork Chop…because it goes with Shake n Bake. There’s Pumpkin Head, Sweet Cheeks. Tim calls her Stink Butt.

The only one that remotely resembles her name is Sophia Beeya.

This poor kid will have no idea what her name is.

That’s cute! My girls are Tillie & Tensley and we have nicknamed them TnT…which was very fitting once I started feeling them move in utero! ha!
