Right now, I’m in the car headed home. I have a WordPress app I use to blog from my phone. We spent the past week in Colorado visiting family, celebrating my little brother getting married to someone we all love, and having a memorial service for the boys.
As I write this, Bella is babbling behind me about “Mama and Daddy get back WHEEEEE” (no idea), Sam is driving, and we’ll be stopping in a couple of hours to eat on the border of Colorado and New Mexico at a place he picked out last night (He never picks so this is a big deal). I’ve got an iced coffee next to me that is so sweet I can barely drink it. :/ This makes me stabby. I adore a good iced coffee.
This week, I learned working from home is a lot easier when you’re actually at home. But I made do with limited Internet and here are some of my ramblings on Babble:
- Joy and sorrow: some of my thoughts about handling my grief and adoption.
- Paper Pregnant: I think this term is adorable. By the time this is over, I’ll have a “pregnancy” about as long as an elephants.
- Let’s have a stranger judge us: I’m talking about the homestudy process; tips others have told us, things I learn as we go through, and what it all means to have a social worker decide if you should parent a child. Everyone who adopts (domestic or international) has to do one of these. I promise it’s not as bad as it sounds. And very un-judgy.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I’ll be doing a obscene amount of laundry and scrubbing up kitty barf from the carpet.
It’s their way of punishing us for leaving them with a pet sitter.
