VSP Eye Care: Covered for a Year
When Sam left the Marines, I was the tender age of 21 and had been blessed with military insurance to cover me immediately after leaving my parents insurance. I really had no idea that going to see a doctor or optometrist could be more than a co-pay.
A few years later after a move home and both of us uninsured, I found out the hard way. Suddenly the contacts I’d worn my entire life cost a small fortune to get. Seeing the eye doctor for a routine checkup wasn’t cheap either. When I ended up with a minor eye infection, I tried to see if it would go away just so we wouldn’t have to pay for it.
When I heard about VSP® Vision care and their care plans, I found myself wishing I’d known about something like this back then. You can choose from different plans that suit your budget and family size for eye care. Through the Clever Girls campaign, I was able to gift a year of coverage to my friend Beth. Even though she’s far away, you can see how much this kind of coverage meant through her texts to me.
She’s an amazing woman who works hard, but as a lot of us know, freelancing doesn’t come with many (any) kind of insurance protection. I’m so thankful I was able to give her this. I know how rough it is to keep up with all the expenses of life and then be thrown a curveball when it comes to caring for yourself.
Wondering what VSP can do for you? “Eye” got you covered. VSP Direct costs as low as 41 cents a day and is a great way for individuals and families to have vision insurance, even if it’s not provided through work. Learn more about VSP here.
