So this week was exciting for us with a move to a new home, close by, starting tomorrow! We’re also trying to get ready for Sam to head back to work soon, a conference next week, and Kaden’s memorial service that so many of my never-met-but-dearly-loved friends are trying to come out for.
I’m also helping host a campaign for Wendy’s – I’d love for you to click through the link, and then if you want upload a 6 second video for a chance to win $6,000 (a winner a week!). I’m doing mine later today. Use the hashtags #6SecondsFlat and #dianawrote6.
Don’t forget to link up your own post below! Last week you all shared some really amazing posts.
We have a new (rented) home that we’re moving to starting tomorrow! Yes, we wanted to buy but Sam isn’t sure how long past another year we’ll be in El Paso so that was the end of that. Isn’t it lovely?
One of Bella’s chores each day is to make her bed. She often just tosses her comforter on and calls it a day, but this morning she did it with “no lumps” and pillows and was so proud she asked me to come see. Also? Where is my small child??
I’m heading out to the Influence Conference next week. Last year I had the boy’s footprints tattooed on my wrists. And this year I’ll get one for Kaden – an elephant of some type since that was his little theme. Yeah, it hurts to think that I even have to think about this again. I’d rather just have him and no tattoo.
My friend Laura surprised me with this Origami Owl locket after we had dinner at her home. I so love it, everything in it is a reminder of Kaden. This night I took the photo I missed him so much that I just wanted a visible reminder.
Sam and I take the mornings our (incredible) sitter is here to go work together. He is finishing up his degree, and I write. It’s so cozy to sit there for a couple hours and just chat and work. We’ve become the “Starbucks couple” and when we grabbed some to go the other day in the drive through, the barista asked if we’d be coming in later. 🙂
Lazy mornings. I had a few people ask about LeapPad’s – this is a 2. I didn’t know one was coming out with a charger :/ or we would have waited. This sucker eats batteries like it’s nobody’s business. So that’s why it’s usually plugged in.
Kaden’s tiny sock. He wore this in the hospital and I found it the other night. It still smelled like him, and that is incredibly heart wrenching and wonderful. I miss him so, so much. I wish I could hold him again. It’s such a strange thing to be so thankful for even having him at all and wishing that I didn’t have to do this again.
Charlie has been with us a full year as of last month. This particular morning he calmly chewed on his bone and watched Bella as she hysterically threw herself on the floor and ran from the room sobbing about Charlie, “looking at me Mama. NO CHARLIE DON’T LOOK AT ME!”
Yay for almost 4! BWAHAHAHAHA
