Little Friendships Along the Way

bella and her friends

I love this picture. Sure, it’s blown out with the lighting and not the best quality off my phone, but I love so much about it.

Yesterday we met up with my friend Emily and her three little boys. Her oldest is one day older than Bella. They have the sweetest little friendship.

Emily was my doula for Kaden’s birth. Sam told me later if she hadn’t been there I would have gotten another epidural instead of trying natural with hypnobirthing. I probably would have. Emily was fierce in that room when she told me I wasn’t going to have one. I was a little scared lol.

That’s why she’s good at what she does.

I love Bella’s friends at this age. They talk about such darling things, like dinosaurs and kites, where Daddy is, what they ate for lunch.

This little guy is Noah. He knows and asks about Kaden, and it eases my heart to know if Bella talks about Kaden to him, he’d understand in his 4 year old way.

I know I tend to get all kinds of angry on here about what we’ve gone through. And I have a right to. But – I’m also vividly aware of what God placed in our lives before this all happened again. My friends here have been such an incredible lifeline for me. Each of them. I’m so incredibly grateful for the friendships we’ve had through this that also help heal Bella.

Beautiful. Also, what’s amazing is when you hover over the picture, I guess it’s the pinning option, but the lighting changes, and for a moment I thought you DID that. Not that it was for any reason. So it’s even more gorgeous to me.

I love this photograph – the lighting, the sun flare, the kiddos, the tree…the composition is awesome, iPhone or not! I also think it is amazing that you have the doula in your life as a friend – one of the few people who shared that intimate experience with you and is now there for you as you heal. I’m so glad you had that moment yesterday…and that Bella has a friend who can meet her in her grieving and that you have Emily in your life.
