We have three cats. Often people seem to gasp at this number, but in all honesty they’re easier than three dogs.
I can’t wrap my head around three of our dog Charlie. I’d lose my mind.
Our cats are older and pretty easy going. They spend a good portion of their day hiding somewhere and sleeping. The only real work they make is when they barf up hairballs (especially in the summer) and of course the never ending supply of litter.
If we’d invented SNL’s litter critters, we’d be millionaires.
The Litter Genie at Target is the answer to all of our issues for both home and when we travel. Right now we have their litter boxes in our garage, meaning that anyone who changes has to make a trip out, all the way around the house, and to the trash can. Honestly? We occasionally let it go a bit longer than we should just because changing the litter is such a pain.
Litter Genie ends this by allowing us to use it as a litter trash can of sorts, with a odor eliminating barrier once you drop in the litter.
Why not use grocery store bags? We do. But here’s the thing – by the time a week’s worth of litter is in the trash outside and it’s been 103* every day in the summer? It’s like opening up the bowels of hell by Thursday to drop another bag of litter in. And that smell permeates our trash can which never goes away.
Litter Genie allows you to keep it all in one, smell free spot until trash day.
Things to know:
- Is it an absolute necessity to have a Litter Genie? No, but think of it this way – it makes this job a little easier which is a win in my book.
- If you have kids old enough to do this, using the Litter Genie might be the way to get it done without so much whining.
- If you travel and have pet sitters (raises hand) this makes their job so.much.easier.
Head to Target with this $3 coupon to purchase the Litter Genie. It comes with a set of bags and scoop.
