In case you missed it:
Thursday night I woke Bella up around 9:30 to go get Sam from the airport. He touched down a little sooner than was scheduled, and in between me figuring out where to park, I ran a little behind.
We made it into the airport and headed to these glass walls that look down the escalators. They bring everyone who comes off a flight up to the waiting area, and I thought we’d have the perfect view of him. My phone was in hand to record it all.
After watching scores of passengers come up, I texted to ask where he was. No answer. We waited some more. Bella started to get cranky as every flight I said, “Watch for Daddy!” and it resulted in no Daddy. This greatly displeased her.
I texted again, “Where are you – at the escalator yet?” No answer.
As we peered down the way, we were suddenly enveloped from behind in a huge bear hug. Sam had gotten off a lot quicker and had been waiting for us at baggage claim. His phone hadn’t sent him any texts.
Bella was in shock at first, but so happy to see him. And I captured this moment:
We’re happy he’s home. And thanks for all your prayers and well wishes. It’s going well.
