Finally, after a month of ups and downs, paperwork and lost emails, and the never ending texts to poor Sam, “Any news on our PCS?” (permanent change of station) –
finally…
I can say with a little more confidence (although nothing is ever certain till you’re there)
we are moving to…
.
.
.
FT. BRAGG, NORTH CAROLINA!!!!
And people? My head literally felt like it exploded when Sam told me. I actually screamed. He was so surprised, saying, “Wow, I didn’t think you’d be that excited.”
BUT I AM.
It’s the SOUTH. The real South! And for anyone who’s read me long enough, you know my love of all things Southern. I would have gladly stayed in Georgia the times we went to visit Sam. I adored it all. The humidity. The sweet tea. The accents. The trees. The green. THE EVERYTHING SOUTHERN.
I can’t wait. I seriously can’t wait to be there and while I know there are downsides to any station, any city, any part of the country – I’m so thrilled to have the chance to experience North Carolina and be near so many of the ladies from blogging that I adore. Any time I start to worry I think about how we’re pretty happy and settled here – so HECK. It can happen anywhere. I know that now.
We don’t have an exact moving date yet but it’s soon. Before this baby arrives anyway.
Which is a whole other issue but you know what? Things like that tend to work out somehow. Look at here. And it’s been nearly 2 years, we made it. It all worked out. I didn’t think it would, I didn’t think I’d survive that first summer with 10 days in a miserable hotel in 108* heat and 4 cats and an 18 month old and no where to live – but we made it! We made it. And we’ll do it all again.
Hopefully sans horrible hotel with cats and death heat.
So North Carolina – here we come!

Yay for NC! I’ve lived in Raleigh my whole life and it would take ALOT for me to leave! I live it here! Fayetteville isn’t the greatest (well areas of it anyways), but they are some great towns close by that are wonderful!

YAY! I was hoping that’s where you would be moving. We are supposed to be heading there too. Unlike you, I can’t stand GA and can’t wait to be out of here.
