Someone Wants to Say Hi.
I snuck these pics in the NICU. We found out we probably can take photos, it just needs to be off a camera as cell phones aren’t allowed in. But they let me take my purse the past two times and it had my cell sooooo…
😉
I couldn’t help it. We haven’t had time to grab a disposable or anything yet. And my brain didn’t equate “No cell phones” to “Bring a camera instead.” I need more sleep lol.
Kaden. The red is from the rash the tape holding in an oxygen tube gave him.
His upgrade from the covered isolette.
Sam and his little son last night. They passed out together.
Milestones:
-
He latches and breastfeeds like a champ.
He’s maintained his weight.
All labs are negative.
He’s progressed through NICU stages rapidly.
Our nurses and the staff have been amazing. Please, please pray we get to take him home soon. We spent last night in a hotel so I could do two feedings then and the ones this morning before we have to go home. We’re 30 min away so during the day we can’t be there. Parents who do this for weeks/months – you are amazing. I see some of you there with your babies and it just blows us away. We’re so eager to hear those words about him being released.
We’re off to the hospital!

Hey Mama,
Congratulations on your baby boy! You can put your phone in airline mode, take pictures and then when you are back in an area where cell phones are OK, you can send the pics out 🙂
I heard about you from Cora’s mom. I’m so sorry you are joining the heart mama family.
Good luck!

He is so beautiful! One of my twins was in NICU for three weeks and we lived in a different state. I only got the chance to see her once a day (another newborn and three other little children at home, plus travel) and I felt SO guilty. Still do, 13 years later, to the point that it makes me cry thinking about it. Thankfully, she doesn’t hold it against me now, lol.

I think you might be able to stay at a Ronald McDonald House if your baby is in NICU. My daughter and hub stayed in one with their baby had a surgery. They said it was very nice. HTH
And rejoicing on the birth of your son. You’ve had a rough time, but you are helping so many families by sharing your experiences. Thank you!

Congratulations! It’s so amazing to know he’s doing well & progressing through those stages quickly! Praying you hear the time to go home news soon!
I know when our little guy was in the NICU, there was a room the parents could sleep in & the nurses would come find you when it was time for a feeding if you were nursing. We lived so close to our hospital & Rory didn’t actually have real food for the first week that that wasn’t an issue for us, but it was there. Also – are there any Ronald McDonald Houses near the hospital? You can likely get a room there if need be. Thinking of you & praying hard.
