“Chawie” Gets an Upgrade
This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Purina One, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #ONEDifference
We love Charlie – or as Bella calls him “Chawie.” He’s been a part of our family for 2 years next month and, while there are days he drives me absolutely insane, I don’t know what we’d do without him.
We were all interested to see what switching our regular brand of dog food to Purina One might do for him. These past few months Charlie has been fussy with eating, as I think smaller dogs tend to be. I don’t remember any of my bigger dogs from my childhood having a tendency not to eat, need to have their food softened, want to be hand fed.
Seriously. Hand fed.
We took the Purina One 28 Day Challenge with Charlie to see if maybe a switch in food, with the first ingredient as real chicken/meat, would help with the constant drama of getting him to eat. I was tired of him waiting until 10pm to have food, then needing to be let out at 5 to go to the bathroom. Or having him not eat at all, then scarf down a bowl a day later and barf it up on the floor from eating too fast.
He’s so cute that you can’t stay mad at him long.
What we’ve found this past month are a few things:
- Charlie is willing to eat in the mornings and afternoons. So we do half and half, and he’s hungry.
- He has a calmer deameanor. He’s hyper as half Chihuahua/half Beagle anyway, but Purina One seemed to calm him down when he was inside, but provide a high energy level for playing.
- He eats by himself. Thank goodness.
- He sheds significantly less, which in our hot summer months means a lot of fur usually comes off him.
I couldn’t resist putting in this shot of him attempting to sit and lick at the same time.
We won’t be switching back to our old food since Charlie likes Purina One and we see a pretty significant difference in him overall.
